Straight answers about your number, your customers, your data, and what happens when the AI gets something wrong.
Getting started
Do I have to give up or port my phone number?+
No. You keep your number exactly where it is and forward it to Zonara — a carrier code that takes about two minutes on the go-live call. Leaving is just as easy: remove the forward. No porting, no paperwork, no hostage situation.
How long until we’re live?+
Days, not months. Forwarding takes minutes; the configuration interview takes about 30 minutes of your time; we do the rest. Your agents show up configured — you don’t build anything.
What do you actually need from me?+
Three things: access to your calendar or practice/field software, about 30 minutes for the onboarding interview, and your call-handling preferences — what counts as an emergency, who gets woken up, what you will and won’t quote over the phone.
Do I need new hardware or a new phone system?+
No. Your phones, your number, your carrier — nothing changes on your side except where unanswered calls end up.
What if I don’t use any scheduling software?+
A Google Calendar is enough to start — Zonara books against it from day one. If you later adopt field-service or practice software, Zonara layers on top without re-onboarding.
Day to day
Does it sound robotic?+
Listen for yourself — the voice demo on this site is the same engine. It speaks naturally, handles interruptions, and tells callers it’s an AI up front. In practice, callers who know they’re talking to a capable AI are more impressed than put off — and anyone who wants a human gets one, always.
What happens when it makes a mistake?+
Three layers. First, every agent starts in approve-first mode — it asks before it acts, until you promote it. Second, anything it’s unsure about escalates to a human with full context. Third, every action is audited: you can ask "why did you do that?" about any call, booking, or message and get the actual reasoning. Mistakes get caught, explained, and turned into fixes — not buried.
Can I change how it behaves?+
Yes, in plain English. "Stop offering Saturday appointments." "Always ask if the unit is under warranty." "Don’t book Dr. Patel after 3pm on Fridays." You send a chat message, the change previews, you approve it, and it’s live in minutes. No settings maze, no support ticket.
Will it spam my customers?+
No. Outreach cadences are short, low-pressure, and frequency-capped in code. One "stop" from a customer halts everything on every channel, instantly.
What if a caller insists on a human?+
They get one. Refusing a human handoff is a hard rule the agents cannot break — warm transfer when someone’s available, a committed callback when they’re not.
Trust & compliance
Is the texting legal?+
Compliance is built into the system, not left to policy documents. Consent is captured and recorded per contact, per channel — and the outbound system checks it in code before any message sends. Messages respect quiet hours in the recipient’s own timezone, and marketing outreach is held to a stricter consent standard than transactional reminders.
What happens when someone opts out?+
Any opt-out — "STOP", a verbal request on a call, an email — halts all outreach to that person across every channel immediately. Not within days. Immediately.
Does the AI identify itself?+
Yes, proactively, in the greeting — and it always answers "am I talking to a person?" truthfully. Several states require this; we treat it as the default everywhere because it’s also just the right call.
Are calls recorded?+
Recording disclosure is on by default in the greeting for every location, regardless of state — the stricter rule governs, since you can’t know where a caller is standing. Recordings and transcripts are encrypted in transit and at rest.
Who can see my data?+
Your data is isolated per location and per organization, encrypted everywhere, and every access is logged. Zonara doesn’t sell data, and agents can never see or touch another business’s information.
Multi-location
Our locations run different software. Is that a problem?+
It’s the design case. One location on ServiceTitan, another on Housecall Pro, a third on a Google Calendar — Zonara sits on top of each location’s existing stack. Nothing gets ripped out, and you still get one comparable view across all of them.
Can each location behave differently?+
Yes. Each location keeps its own configuration — hours, services, escalation rules — under org-level rules you set once. Local flexibility, central standards.
Can I ask questions across the whole portfolio?+
Yes, in plain English: "which location missed the most calls last week?" or "no-show rates across Texas this month." You can also push changes everywhere at once — "set holiday hours at every location" — previewed per location before anything applies.
What happens when we acquire another company?+
Forward their number, run the onboarding interview, go live — on whatever systems they came with. Their numbers join your comparable KPI surface from the first week, and each fold-in gets faster than the last.
Plans & getting answers
How much does it cost?+
Plans start at $1,500/month — full details on the pricing page. For multi-location and anything custom, talk to us — pricing follows what we configure for you.
Is there a long-term contract?+
See the pricing page for current terms. Structurally, leaving is always easy: you forward your number rather than porting it, so offboarding is removing a forward — your number was never ours to hold.
Who do I talk to if something’s off?+
A person. US-based support responds within one business day — and at this stage, you’ll often be talking to the founder directly.
Still have a question?
Ask a person. At this stage you'll usually be talking to the founder.
